OZ Minerals Ltd has denied claims by a
Cambodian newspaper that hundreds of thousands of dollars was paid to the relatives of Cambodian government officials after the miner purchased a gold mine in the country in 2009, according to a
Fairfax Media report.
According to the report, the Cambodian government has also dismissed the allegations, which claim more than $1 million
of the proceeds from the sale went to three women on the board of OZ's joint venture partner in the mine, which owned the stake OZ bought out.
The women were reportedly closely related to officials from government departments, according to Fairfax.
An OZ spokesman denied the allegations, and told Fairfax that an internal
company investigation had found no evidence of wrongdoing.
